LATEST ADDITION TO THE LAKE FAMILY

We have Chickens! First we had worms, and now we have a ton of them!) and now we have chicks - soon to be chickens. I now need to read up on them and learn the whole chicken language. Like what's a cone? And do they sleep at all? But it will be fun. What started this was some of the nurses at work bring in fresh eggs from their chickens. What a difference in eggs! So that got me thinking and begging for a chicken coop and chickens. So my wonderful husband made me a beautiful coop and went and got chicks. We could have found older chickens but I thought it would be fun to start with chicks. The down side is that they won't lay eggs for 4 - 6 months from now. Which Dana says "I thought that was the whole reason for doing this - for the eggs! Not Pets!" I say "we've lived 50 years w/out fresh eggs we can live another 6 months. :)

Outside Fun

Living in the country has really grown on us! So this is what Ma and Pa have been up to. Pa has been busy this past month outlining a garden, fencing it in and filling it with good soil. Then he suprised me with a chicken coop, he was secretly building. I can't wait to have about 3-4 chickens and the fresh eggs! Also this past week we have finally gotten some measurable rain. So I took a picture of the creek in our backlot. We hope to dam it off one day and have a pond.

Prayers for Troy

Our good friends from our Ward the Parke's got some devastating news this week. Troy (last on the left) has been diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma (cancer of the bone marow). He is very sick and will unfortunately be hospitalized for many weeks. They are a wonderful couple and family with 4 kids, 14-5. We keep him in our prayers and know "life is a gift - enjoy it!"
This picture was just taken 3 weeks ago at the Sacramento Temple.

Surrogate Mom Helen,
and Rollie

Bradley is so well cared for at his home in Buena Park, so I wanted to share some pictures with everyone. We love everyone there and think of the as our extended family! Brad was placed there in August of 2002. Rollie was already working there and Helen came shortly after. They love our kids (boys - the home has six boys/men)and take exceptional care of them. We are so blessed to have them!!!
